A year after the first post about GPU prices in Europe, let’s revisit with the European GPU market. Last generations NVIDIA RTX 5000 and AMD RX 9000 are out, let’s have a look at the GPU prices in Europe using Amazon.fr and check which one gives the best “bang for the buck” as YouTubers like to say.
I will use Hardware Unboxed comparison of the Radeon RX 9070 XT vs. GeForce RTX 5070 Ti over 55 games for this post. They have used the ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 5070 Ti OC and the Sapphire Pure Radeon RX 9070 XT for their comparison, so I’ve used the prices for the same models and when possible, I used the same series for other GPU’s.
I could not find prices for RTX 3080 and RTX 3070, so I excluded them from the table below.
- RTX 5080: 1.702,00 €
- RTX 5070 Ti: 1.235,00 €
- RTX 5070: 849,00 €
- RTX 4080 Super: 1.469,00 €
- RTX 4080: 1.358,00 €
- RTX 4070 Ti Super: 1.303,00 €
- RTX 4070 Ti: 1.459,00 €
- RTX 4070 Super: 761,00 €
- RTX 4070: 770,00 €
- RX 9070 XT: 980,00 €
- RX 9070: 768,00 €
- RX 7900 XTX: 900,00 €
- RX 7900 XT: 859,00 €
- RX 7900 GRE: 623,00 €
- RX 7800 XT: 560,00 €
- RX 7700 XT: 470,00 €
Then let’s get the data from Hardware Unboxed video:

RTX 5070 | 12 | 82 | 105 | 8,09 € | 46 | 60 | 14,15 € |
RX 7900 GRE | 16 | 80 | 99 | 6,29 € | 45 | 56 | 11,13 € |
RX 7800 XT | 16 | 75 | 93 | 6,02 € | 42 | 52 | 10,77 € |
RTX 4070 | 12 | 70 | 90 | 8,56 € | 38 | 50 | 15,40 € |
RX 7700 XT | 12 | 61 | 77 | 6,10 € | 34 | 43 | 10,93 € |
From this graph you can clearly see AMD dominates the market in terms of value, with 4 cards in the top 5 and 7 in the top 10. You can also see that previous generation cards dominate in terms of value with 4 cards in the top 5 and 7 in the top 10.
If you’re on a budget, the RX 7700 XT seems to be the card to go. With a bit more money, a RX 7800 XT is a better choice. If you need even more power, the RX 9070 is a good choice.
Regarding the RX 7900 XTX which has a better value than the all the newer models. In addition, if you’re interested in AI, with its 24 gigabytes of VRAM, it has the second highest capacity, second to the RTX 5090.
Note that the RTX 5070 and RX 9070 XT have the same value on paper, but bcause of its 12 gigabytes of VRAM, I would stay away from the Nvidia card unless you stick to 1440p gaming.
Depending on where you live, you may want to include the cost of electricity into account. For example, a RTX 4080 uses 100W less Watts than a RX 7900 XTX to deliver the same level of performance.
